FAQ

Do I need to reinforce the floor to support a freestanding bath?

Our freestanding bathtubs are made from high-quality materials—acrylic reinforced with fiberglass—and are generally suitable for standard bathroom installations without requiring additional floor reinforcement.

If your bathroom is located on an upper level or in an older home, we strongly recommend having a professional inspect your flooring. This ensures a safe, long-lasting installation that complies with local building codes.

Are the drain and overflow included with the freestanding bath?

Some of our freestanding bathtub models include an integrated overflow and a matte white drain, designed to complement the tub’s clean, contemporary aesthetic. Inclusions vary by model, we recommend reviewing the product’s technical sheet to confirm what’s included.

Whether you choose a classic tub or a bolder design model, multiple drain and overflow finishes are available—such as matte black and brushed nickel. Additional accessories may be found  at the bottom of the product page depending on the selected collection.

What is the minimum distance required between the wall and a freestanding tub?

A minimum clearance of 4 inches (10 cm) between the wall and your freestanding bathtub is recommended. This space allows for easy plumbing access and simplifies cleaning by avoiding hard-to-reach corners in your bathroom.

Not only is this distance practical, it also helps preserve the visual balance and functionality of your bathroom layout—no regrets later.

Are freestanding acrylic baths slippery on the inside?

Oceania freestanding bathtubs feature a smooth acrylic surface that is typically less slippery than traditional cast iron tubs found in older homes. That said, any wet surface—especially with soap or oils—can become slippery over time. Proper maintenance ensures a safe bathing experience.

Note: For individuals with reduced mobility, we recommend using a non-slip mat or grab bar for extra security.

What warranty is offered on your freestanding baths?

All Oceania freestanding bathtubs come with a 20-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. The warranty covers both the tub’s structure and surface finish, provided the product is installed and used according to our guidelines.

Whether this is your first purchase or a bathroom remodel, our clients enjoy peace of mind thanks to a warranty built to last.
A well-designed bathroom starts with reliable products—and a brand committed to long-term quality, across North-America.

What cleaning products are recommended for an acrylic freestanding bathtub?

The longevity of your bathtub depends in part on regular maintenance. All Oceania baths are designed for easy cleaning without compromising their shine. Use non-abrasive cleaning products, such as a soft cloth or sponge paired with a mild liquid detergent.

Avoid any abrasive scrubs, ammonia-based cleaners, or solvent-based products that could damage the acrylic finish. A consistent cleaning routine helps maintain the bath’s bright white look and extends its lifespan. Our bathtubs are made to simplify your bathroom maintenance.

How should a freestanding bath be installed?

A freestanding bathtub should always be installed by a qualified professional. The process includes preparing the floor, connecting the plumbing, and properly leveling the bathtub.

A well-installed tub enhances both the style and functionality of your space—whether you're in a modern condo or a century-old home.
